What's Next?
The International Swing kicks off with the Ryder Cup warm-up event, the Team Cup where Team Continental Europe will face off against Team GB&I, which will be held at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort from January 10th-12th.
I really enjoy this event as it's a good chance to see how some potential Ryder Cup stars will perform under matchplay conditions, of course nothing can replicate the tension that the Ryder Cup creates, but this is a good opportunity for Team Europe to blood some players, considering the USA gets the President's Cup to do exactly that.
There's a lot of youth on both sides, which is great and if I was a betting man, I'd say team Continental Europe will come out on top.
The Bogey Men Pod DP World Tour Fantasy League
As the Opening Swing has concluded and there's a bit of a break until the Team Cup, our DP World Tour Fantasy League has started to take shape and there are some clear winners and losers so far.
Jonny hasn't really recovered from missing week 1 and after a pretty poor week for his team in Mauritius he's slipped down to 17th position out of 21. To compare him to a Premier League team he's Leicester City, on the verge of relegation but optimistic ahead of a big 8 week block.
Michael has been abroad with work and as a result he hasn't filled out any teams for a while and he's dropped all the way from 6th position down to 16th, just one spot and 200 points ahead of Jonny. Things are looking as bleak for Michael as they are for Man Utd right now, but Michael will come back refreshed in the New Year and is confident he'll be back up toward the top of the table come the end of the season.
Praise has to be given to our league leader, Jack Patton and his team The 59ers with 4,279 points have been consistently strong from the outset. His team for the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open was made up of the following:
Casey Jarvis (C)
Wenyi Ding
Angel Ayora
John Parry
Martin Couvra
Matthew Southgate
You can still join our DP World Tour Fantasy League. We have lots of prizes, we'll have winners for each of the Majors as well as our overall winner at the end of the season so click the image below to sign up and use the bogey men code QMOKP12L
